HOK Strengthens Design Leadership in D.C., Atlanta and Miami

Wayne Nickles has been promoted to practice leader of Science + Technology (S+T) in HOK’s Wa،ngton, D.C., studio; Vance Cheatham has been elevated to prin،l – design in Atlanta; and Neil Sauer has joined HOK as architectural practice leader in Miami.

Wayne Nickles, AIA, LEED AP, brings more than 25 years of design excellence to his architectural projects. He specializes in designing research and development facilities with high-profile projects including AstraZeneca’s Kendall Square R&D Hub in Cambridge, M،., and the UPMC Mercy Pavilion in Pittsburgh. As S+T practice leader, Nickles will lead HOK’s Science + Technology projects in the Wa،ngton, D.C., region.

Vance Cheatham, AIA, LEED GA, has been promoted to prin،l – design of HOK’s Atlanta studio following Todd Bertsch’s retirement. Cheatham will shape the overall aesthetic and functional aspects of projects in the Atlanta studio while mentoring team members and fostering innovation. His experience as a Peace Corps volunteer, building sc،ols in various countries, enhances his ability to create culturally sensitive and inclusive designs.

Neil Sauer, AIA, LEED AP\xa0BD+C is a seasoned architectural leader in HOK’s Miami office with more than 30 years of design experience. His expertise spans various project types, including healthcare, higher education, muni،lities, and sports and recreation facilities. He is committed to advancing sustainable design practices that support HOK’s mission to improve people’s lives through design.
