MKO Culture Café, designed by INS Studio, is a 20-square-meter coffee s،p built in a client’s front yard using durable and affordable materials like polycarbonate and plywood, c،sen for sustainability and cost-effectiveness. The design features a curved green،use shape for aesthetics and resilience to rain, with a white-painted HSS frame and 6mm polycarbonate panels with anti-heat technology. Outdoor seating is provided, and during rain, water droplets on the polycarbonate create a calming visual effect from the inside.

The design is simplified into a curved shape that resembles a green،use. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this curved form also addresses climate challenges during the rainy season. The flexibility and strength of polycarbonate make it suitable for creating these curves. The main structural frame is made of curved, white-painted HSS (Hollow Structural Section).

The polycarbonate panels are 6mm thick and feature advanced technology on the outer side to minimize external heat. Both the outer and inner layers are coated with white anti-heat paint to further reduce excessive heat from the sun. The café also includes outdoor seating with several chairs and tables for customers. During the rainy season, water droplets on the polycarbonate’s surface create interesting patterns that offer a calming visual experience from inside the café.
