Shedkm unveils office scheme for ACME Swansea masterplan
The AJ100 practice’s designs for a 3,100m² civic hub opposite St David’s Church and an adjoining visitor centre went to consultation last month.
The project is backed by Swansea Council and regeneration specialist Urban Splash.
Shedkm says the proposed four-storey structure will ،ld ،e for mixed occupiers, including the city council, while a ‘360 degree’ frontage will face a planned new public square.
The scheme will also deliver new cycle and pedestrian routes along with biodiversity improvements to include tree planting and rain gardens.
The office scheme is the second building to be bought forward under ACME’s 11ha masterplan for the former St David’s s،pping centre site in Swansea city centre, which was approved in 2017.

ACME\'s Swansea Central masterplan (2024)
The masterplan was updated in June to set out the use and scale parameters of the development, also known as Copr Bay.
In 2022, ACME completed the first phase of the Swansea Central (Copr Bay) masterplan with the opening of the 9,800m² \xa0Swansea arena and an adjoining bridge.
Alongside the arena,\xa0 six new buildings are set to be delivered as part of ACME’s masterplan.
The latest proposals come 16 years after BDP was tasked with masterplanning a regeneration scheme for developer Hammerson and Urban Splash, which was never delivered. That later paved the way for ACME’s proposals.
Shedkm’s building will be submitted for planning this month, with work scheduled to s، next year.
