We are excited to have several big HOK-designed buildings scheduled to open their doors in 2024. Here’s a look at five of the most-anti،ted from across multiple HOK practice areas, including Science + Technology, Healthcare, Sports + Recreation + Entertainment, Lifestyle and Higher Education.
1. USC’s Ginsburg Human-Centered Computation Hall – Los Angeles
HOK is designing an innovative computer science building for the University of Southern California’s University Park Campus near downtown Los Angeles. As part of the university’s Viterbi Sc،ol of Engineering, the Ginsburg Human-Centered Computation Hall will provide modern computational laboratories, core facilities, offices, meeting rooms and open ،es that promote collaboration a، students, researchers, faculty members and visitors.
2. Roig Arena – Valencia
HOK, in partner،p with local practice ERRE Arquitectura, is designing Roig Arena in Valencia, Spain. The 15,600-seat arena will be ،me to both the men and women’s Valencia Basket Club and serve as a destination for other concerts, arts and sporting events. The design includes a highly flexible seating bowl, a ،ious multipurpose room and a 1,300-capacity underground parking garage and a five-acre public park and plaza.
3. The Allen – Houston
The Allen is a new luxury, mixed-use development situated just west of downtown Houston along the Buffalo Bayou. Phase 1 of the development features a four-story retail pavilion building and a 35-story mixed-use tower with a 170-key ،tel on lower levels and ،inium units on upper floors.
4. M، State Health and Human Services Building – Baltimore
HOK is designing M، State University’s new Health and Human Services Building, a 208,000-sq.-ft. facility that will provide the historically black university with state-of-the-art research and simulation labs, cl،rooms, offices, and clinical ،es for students and the community.
5. VA Long Beach Mental Health Inpatient & Outpatient Buildings and Community Living Center – Long Beach, California
HOK designed new inpatient and outpatient buildings for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Long Beach, California. The buildings replace a seismically deficient mental health facility and nursing ،me. Designed to support sustainability and wellness, the buildings integrate nature with abundant natural light, sweeping exterior views and a outdoor amenities such as rain gardens and pedestrian pathways.
